Sign up! The earlier you register, the earlier you get your books. Payment can be now or later. Remember to add $2 per 4-Her (3rd grade and older) for our club dues.
Anyone who enrolls on-line needs to make us a copy of your enrollment form and give it to one of the leaders at the meeting. If you need for us to pick up books for you this is a necessity. Even if you pick up your own books we can better serve you if we know what you are signed up for this year.
Every 4-Her 3rd grade and above is expected to do a demonstration this year during a meeting. Sign up at a meeting or call Stephanie Bailey at 426-9208 to sign up for a certain meeting.
Flowers for sale! The annual plant 4-H fundraiser is here again. These are nice flowers at a good price and they’ll be here just in time for Mother’s Day. Be sure to order as quickly as possible, before they run out of specific flower choices. Orders are due by March 31st. Forms can be printed on-line. Be sure to tell your friends and family about this great opportunity and share a form with them.
April 18, 4-7 pm., is the 4-H Fish Fry/Carnival at the fairgrounds. Several of us will be needed to run our two booths (basketball and football) and help at the fish fry. Please sign up to help and join an evening of family fun.
Dawn Fansler will be offering a basic crochet workshop in her home on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 1-3 p.m. Sign up is limited so if you didn’t get signed up at the meeting and want to check availability you may call Mrs. Fansler at 747-5733.
Our next meeting will be at The Chapel on March 13th, from 1-3 p.m.

Meeting was Cancelled
Due to weather conditions, last Friday's monthly meeting was cancelled.
We can't reschedule the meeting because our building insurance only covered that date and time.
All interested parties to the Paden's home on
Monday afternoon, Jan. 19,
from 3-4:30 pm
If you would like project information and to view some book material, I will be available to answer questions and help you enroll. Also any of you that would like to go ahead and enroll may do so online or else download enrollment forms to complete and bring to the next meeting. If you enroll online you still need to send a list of your needed manuals to Sandie Paden or Dawn Fansler, and bring a copy of your enrollment to the next meeting so you can pay through us. If you let the 4-H office know at least 24 hours in advance you can pick up your manuals and pay for them there. If you have questions please call Sandie.
Also RSVP's about Monday afternoon would be appreciated.

From the Allen County 4-H Office:
2009 4-H Program Enrollment
With the flip of a calendar and the start of
a new year, it is time to renew your 4-H membership for 2009. As a
previous member in the nations’ largest youth organization, we hope that you are
planning on joining again to continue building your career path with 4-H
projects, contests and activities.
We are encouraging those with
access to the internet to start their enrollment process by going to the on-line
enrollment site to select your projects and primary 4-H unit for 2008. The
membership and parental/guardian form will still need to be printed out, signed
and given to your club leader or mailed to the Extension Office along with your
annual enrollment fee. (https://www.four-h.purdue.edu/enroll/)
Another
option is to print out the enrollment form from our web site: www.ces.purdue.edu/allen and take the
completed form to your next 4-H Club meeting. Remember that it must be
signed by the member and a parent/guardian. Also mark which manuals you
will also need.
Things to
note:
· You must submit a
completed Allen County 4-H enrollment form each year in order to be eligible to
participate in the 4-H
program.
· Members are
expected to pay for their manuals and dues at the time of
enrollment.
· Deadline for
enrolling to participate in the July 2009 County Fair is May 1 for existing
members.
· Enrollment fees -
$10.00 for grades 3-12 and $5.00 for PreK-grade
2.
· Grade is determined by
your school grade as of January 1, of the current exhibition
year.
· Remember that some
animal projects have earlier identification dates. Refer to the 4-H
newsletter for specific dates and
times.
· If you are in a
community club and also taking Dog, Horse, Llama or Shooting Sports, you will
need to fill out an additional enrollment form for those projects. Dog
enrollments are due February 20,
2009.
· Allen County Fair –
July 21-26, 2009.
